Thank you for loaning me your girl. I know you would have wanted to be here with her. I think you two had a lot of things left to do together.
I am sorry I didn’t get to meet you. She speaks so fondly of you. Every now and again when we are riding, she will start to cry even though I am being a good boy.
Thank you for making her brave. Sometimes I get scared and try to get away from them, but she stays calm. Her calmness helps me to be braver.
Thank you for teaching her to be patient. She told me this is something that she learnt from you when you were learning the flying changes together. I try my best to do what she asks, but sometimes I get confused. I think she’s been working hard to ask me to do things in a way that makes sense to me.
Thank you for teaching her that dressage is a dance where two come together and guide each other. She knows it’s not an obedience test and that she is not my master but my partner.
Since you can’t be here to look after her anymore, I’ll do it for you.
